The Red River Biosolids Partners consortium, which features equal 33.3% stakes from Aecon, Southland Holdings, and MWH Constructors Canada, will oversee the design and construction of new biosolids facilities. Stantec has been tapped to provide the technical design services for the site. Following the completion of the project’s development phase, crews are now moving into full-scale construction.

Operations at the upgraded facility are scheduled to commence in the final quarter of 2030, with the entire project slated for completion in the second quarter of 2031. Aecon expects to record its portion of the contract value in its construction backlog during the third quarter of this year.
