IndiGo taps Honeywell for record-breaking 810-aircraft fleet upgrade

In a deal marking the largest equipment procurement in its history, Honeywell Aerospace will supply avionics and power systems for IndiGo’s massive expansion of 810 new Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The agreement deepens a decade-long partnership aimed at bolstering the Indian carrier's safety and operational efficiency as it scales globally.

The contract includes the delivery of 131-9A auxiliary power units, advanced weather radar, and traffic collision avoidance systems across the entire incoming fleet. These technologies are intended to optimize route planning and situational awareness for pilots, while a comprehensive aftermarket support program will oversee long-term maintenance and aircraft availability.

Willie Walsh, Chief Executive Officer Designate at IndiGo, emphasized that the collaboration is central to the airline’s transformation into a major global player. Honeywell Aerospace has maintained a presence in India for over thirty years, and this order cements its role as a primary technology provider in one of the world's most rapidly expanding aviation markets. Anthony Florian, President of Global Commercial Aftermarket at Honeywell, noted that the sheer scale of the order serves as a validation of the company's long-term technical strategy for commercial aviation.
