The FTSE 100 led regional losses with a 0.6% decline, while both France's CAC 40 and Germany's DAX dipped by 0.1%. Individual stock performance remained fragmented: Hemnet Group gained 4.9% and Lagercrantz Group B added 3.6%, contrasting sharply with Ryanair Holdings, which slid 7.1%, and Thule Group, which fell 5.8%. In the sovereign debt market, the German 10-year Bund yield climbed to 3.165%, while the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4.567%.

Contrasting the European slump, Asian markets showed resilience. The Hang Seng surged 2% and the Shanghai Composite added 0.9%, even as Japanese markets remained closed for the day. Meanwhile, U.S. index futures remained largely stagnant, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average edging down 0.1% and S&P 500 contracts hovering near flat. The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index tracked slightly lower, settling at 97.03.
