BOXABL Debuts on Nasdaq as Modular Housing Bets Go Public

With over $230 million raised from 50,000 individual investors, Las Vegas-based BOXABL officially hit the Nasdaq stock exchange today under the ticker BXBL. The move follows a completed merger with FG Merger II Corp., marking a transition from a private startup to a publicly traded entity in the housing sector.

The company, founded in 2017, seeks to overhaul traditional construction by mass-producing modular units in factory settings. Its primary product, the 361-square-foot Casita, is designed to unfold on-site in under an hour, complete with pre-installed utilities, kitchen, and bathroom. Beyond the Casita and the smaller 120-square-foot Baby Box, leadership is currently pushing into stackable, connectable designs aimed at multifamily complexes and townhomes.

This shift to public markets arrives as the firm attempts to scale its automated manufacturing capabilities. While the company faces the inherent volatility of the housing market and the logistical hurdles of large-scale construction, the public listing provides a new capital structure for its ambitious expansion plans. Investors are now watching to see if the company can maintain its rapid assembly model while navigating the regulatory and economic complexities of the broader construction industry.
