NHHF President Dr. Elena Rios emphasized that the program focuses on cultivating the next generation of leaders from within the communities they serve. Program Director Guadalupe Pacheco noted that the lack of visibility for public health careers is a primary obstacle, with many young people unaware of existing opportunities or failing to see themselves represented in the field.

As part of a five-year cooperative agreement with the CDC initiated in 2022, the campaign offers digital career guides, webinars, and specialized tools for hiring officials. The initiative also examines the integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to streamline recruitment and retention efforts. By partnering with national health organizations, the foundation aims to fortify the long-term workforce pipeline.
