Ruggie has moved away from traditional stock and bond portfolios, arguing that alternative assets have shifted from supplemental holdings to foundational pillars of modern wealth management. He advocates for direct investment in late-stage, pre-IPO companies, citing names like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Databricks as central to his current strategy for ultra-high-net-worth families.
To scale this approach, Ruggie is launching Destiny Access, a platform designed to provide qualified purchasers with curated private market intelligence. This follows the creation of Destiny Intelligence, a new business unit focused on building technology specifically for wealth advisors. These moves reflect a broader shift in his firm’s operations, emphasizing bespoke problem-solving over standard asset allocation as he continues to build out his independent RIA network from his base in Winter Park, Florida.
