The accolade recognizes the AFCI’s role in professionalizing film commissions and fostering the strategic partnerships necessary for high-stakes screen production. By maintaining the Global Production Network Tool and providing essential advocacy, the organization has become a cornerstone for producers and location managers navigating complex international shoots. LMGI Awards chair Nancy Haecker noted that the collaboration between location professionals and these commissions remains vital to the success of modern film and television projects.

The ceremony, scheduled for August 22, 2026, at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, will also celebrate individual and organizational achievements. Veteran location manager Mike Fantasia is set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work on major features, including Top Gun: Maverick and Killers of the Flower Moon. Additionally, the Environmental Media Association will be honored with the LMGI Humanitarian Award for its contributions toward sustainable production practices across the industry.
