Election Truth Alliance Gains Tax-Exempt Status Amid Oversight Concerns

After two years of independent data analysis and cybersecurity scrutiny, the Election Truth Alliance has secured federal 501(c)(3) status. The grassroots organization aims to bolster public education on election integrity, a move arriving as questions mount regarding staffing shifts at federal election oversight bodies.

The organization functions as a non-partisan platform for analyzing election results and identifying vulnerabilities within computerized infrastructure. Its volunteer base draws from diverse fields, including statistics, computer programming, and financial auditing, to challenge current verification standards. Executive Director of Public Engagement Nathan Taylor argues that the public must demand accurate vote counts before certification, emphasizing that independent audits are essential for maintaining democratic trust.

Securing non-profit status provides the group with increased transparency requirements and public review of its filings, which may serve to bolster its credibility. The group is now actively recruiting former staffers from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and the U.S. Election Assistance Commission to contribute their technical expertise. Donations made to the initiative since January 13, 2025, qualify for tax deductions as the group expands its efforts to fill gaps in local election security support.
