The collaboration centers on enhancing the platform's reference data management system, known as RIMS. According to Rothera Chief Product Officer Ian Grieves, the system was built on an aggressive five-month timeline to structure thousands of event contracts while ensuring the capacity to scale to tens of thousands of listings. The platform provides infrastructure for futures commission merchants and institutional participants to hedge risks associated with real-world outcomes.
Connamara Systems, a firm specializing in capital markets software, will work to expand the platform's functionality as Rothera moves into its next growth phase. Mike Gatny, President and COO of Connamara, noted that the technical requirements for event markets necessitate high-performance, secure infrastructure to maintain regulatory compliance. Since its launch in May, Rothera has focused on products tied to benchmarks such as the Core PCE Price Index and US Weekly Jobless Claims, positioning itself as a neutral marketplace for institutional-grade event-driven risk management.
