Universal Music Group Nears Completion of €500 Million Buyback

With over €487 million already deployed, Universal Music Group is approaching the finish line of its current share repurchase initiative. Between July 13 and July 17, the Hilversum-based entertainment giant added 50,062 shares to its treasury, marking a steady continuation of the capital allocation strategy launched earlier this spring.

The latest tranche of repurchases was executed at an average price of €18.43 per share, amounting to a total cost of €922,715 for the five-day window. Since the program's inception on March 30, 2026, the company has acquired 26,073,074 shares in total. The firm is operating under the strict disclosure requirements mandated by the EU Market Abuse Regulation, ensuring transparency in its ongoing market activity. Investors can track the accumulation of these shares through the company’s dedicated portal, where aggregated progress reports are updated on a weekly basis.
