To support these preparations, the company finished four engineering runs at its Los Angeles manufacturing site, with clinical trial material production next on the horizon.

Financial momentum also bolstered the announcement, as Armata received an additional $2.5 million from the U.S. Defense Department. This injection brings the total military-backed funding for the program to $28.7 million, though CEO Deborah Birx noted the company is actively seeking further capital to bridge the costs of the upcoming study. Alongside these operational shifts, Armata elevated David House to the role of chief financial officer to oversee the firm’s fiscal strategy as it pivots toward late-stage development.
