The company’s performance was marked by a net interest margin expansion of eight basis points to 4.24%, driven by higher yields on average interest-bearing assets. Total loans reached $2.8 billion by June 30, reflecting a 1.9% increase from the end of March, while deposit growth reached $3.1 billion. CEO John W. Bordelon noted that the bank successfully regained momentum in loan growth following a sluggish start to the year.

Despite the growth, the bank is navigating a shift in credit quality, with nonperforming assets totaling $39.2 million. While criticized loans saw an uptick during the quarter, management stated they do not anticipate significant losses. Looking ahead, newly appointed President Darren E. Guidry emphasized a strategy of proactive loan resolution as the bank approaches its 118th anniversary. The board declared a quarterly dividend of $0.32 per share, payable on August 14 to shareholders of record as of August 3.
