Fuse Oncology Targets Treatment Delays with New Prescribing Platform

At the 68th AAPM Annual Meeting in Vancouver, Fuse Oncology unveiled FuseRx, a software solution designed to bridge the gap between initial patient consults and the start of radiation therapy. By digitizing prescribing and treatment intent, the platform aims to slash the time required to move patients into active care.

The platform functions as a central hub, connecting consults to simulation, planning, and treatment delivery. Physicians use a single guided workflow to generate treatment intent, including simulation orders, prescriptions, and organ-at-risk goals. These digital templates replace traditional paper-and-PDF processes that often create bottlenecks in clinical settings. A built-in validation engine provides safety checks and audit trails to ensure consistency throughout the process.

CEO James Bauler frames the initiative around a 24-hour goal from consultation to care, emphasizing the need to reduce administrative burden on medical teams. To maintain clinical rigor, the system integrates the American College of Radiation Oncology’s ACROPath guidelines directly into the prescribing interface. This ensures that clinicians receive evidence-based decision support at the point of care, minimizing treatment variation while keeping the physician in control of clinical judgment. FuseRx now joins the company’s existing S!GNAL and FuseDocs tools on a unified data platform.
