The project represents a five-year collaboration between Raytheon UK and a consortium of British defense partners. By leveraging advanced digital modeling, the team transitioned the weapon from initial concept to prototype significantly faster than traditional development cycles. The system utilizes the existing Stormbreaker airframe, ensuring compatibility with a wide array of current air platforms while maintaining the cost-effectiveness required for high-volume deployment.

James Gray, managing director and chief executive of Raytheon UK, stated that the program is intended to provide the RAF with greater operational flexibility and a more resilient defense industrial base. The manufacturing process will span the United Kingdom, with systems electronics and software developed in Harlow and control actuation systems produced in Glenrothes. This nationwide approach is expected to sustain approximately 140 high-skilled jobs across England, Scotland, and Wales, reinforcing regional manufacturing capabilities alongside national security interests.
