The Roma-X represents a total redesign of Mago Maga’s previous hardware, moving beyond the Roma Pro series with a more compact footprint and automated features. It handles up to 300g of green coffee per batch, utilizing a dual-layer borosilicate glass chamber that allows users to monitor the process while an integrated filtration system scrubs 90% of smoke and particles.

Technological integration serves as the core of the unit. A 5-inch touchscreen manages roasting parameters, while the accompanying mobile app facilitates real-time monitoring and access to a cloud-based library of 266 preset profiles. Users can leverage AI algorithms for automated batches or switch to manual mode to customize their roast. CEO Chifeng Lei emphasized that the platform is designed to foster a social community where enthusiasts can share and download specific roast profiles via over-the-air updates.

Having previously secured the Best New Product People’s Choice Award at the 2024 SCA Coffee Expo, the company is positioning this launch to capture a growing market of home enthusiasts. Early-bird backers on Kickstarter will receive discounts of more than 50% off the standard retail price, with units scheduled to ship in fall 2026.
