The dividend will be distributed to shareholders of record as of September 4, 2026, resulting in an annualized yield of approximately 2.8 percent. According to company leadership, the decision reflects the bank's resilience despite broader macroeconomic and geopolitical volatility.
Ray Reitsma, President and CEO of Mercantile, attributed the dividend hike to the firm's current balance sheet strength and asset quality. While citing persistent economic uncertainty, Reitsma stated that the bank remains positioned to support asset expansion while maintaining its commitment to shareholder returns. Mercantile Bank Corporation, which holds $6.8 billion in assets, continues to operate its dividend program alongside its core banking services across Michigan.
