Jack Mallers Steps Down as Twenty One Capital CEO

Jack Mallers has resigned as chief executive of Bitcoin-focused firm Twenty One Capital to dedicate his full attention to his digital payments venture, Strike. Raphael Zagury, a current board member and founder of Elektron Energy, will immediately assume the helm of the Austin-based company to lead its next phase.

The leadership shuffle arrives as Twenty One Capital abandons its previously announced plans to acquire Strike. The firm, which entered the public markets late last year via a merger with Cantor Equity Partners, confirmed that while the Strike deal is off the table, negotiations regarding a potential combination with Elektron Energy remain ongoing. Mallers and Zagury are currently collaborating to facilitate a transition for the company as it seeks to integrate financial services and mining infrastructure into a single Bitcoin-native platform.
