Envoc Secures SOC 2 Type II Certification for Identity Systems

Baton Rouge-based software firm Envoc has achieved SOC 2 Type II certification, a milestone that validates the company's security protocols for handling sensitive biometric and identity data. The audit confirms that the developer maintains rigorous standards for privacy and data integrity across its digital authentication products.

The certification serves as a critical qualification for government agencies and regulated industries, where SOC 2 attestation is increasingly mandatory for procurement. By formalizing its security infrastructure, Envoc removes significant barriers to entry for high-stakes projects, including digital driver's licenses and state-level identity verification systems. These controls ensure that the firm’s data handling processes—from collection to deletion—meet the standards required to mitigate risks posed by AI-driven identity fraud.

Envoc’s flagship authentication tool, FaceLock, anchors this security approach by linking biometric identity to government-issued credentials, such as passport chips and mobile driver's licenses. According to founder Calvin Fabre, the certification provides the necessary assurance for clients managing high-stakes transactions, such as wire transfers and account recovery, where the risk of identity takeover is highest. Since its 2003 founding, the Louisiana firm has focused on these identity technologies, including the development of the first legal mobile driver's license in the United States.
