Previously, leveraging Whop’s infrastructure for payment flows, user management, and ad campaigns required technical expertise or a dedicated engineering team. The introduction of Whop CLI removes these barriers, enabling entrepreneurs to launch products or monitor sales metrics through direct, simplified commands. This shift effectively democratizes the platform’s backend, ensuring that a user with no coding experience wields the same operational power as a seasoned developer.
Steven Schwartz, CEO and co-founder of Whop, noted that the tool addresses a critical growth bottleneck by connecting businesses directly to the company's end-to-end API. By integrating with AI agents, the CLI allows for rapid business iteration, where complex tasks like setting prices or spinning up ad campaigns occur in seconds. This release follows recent infrastructure expansions, including Whop Cards and Whop Ads, as the company seeks to scale its global marketplace where users currently generate approximately $4 billion in annual earnings.
