Recite Me Launches Year-Long Digital Accessibility Campaign

As the United States marks 36 years since the Americans with Disabilities Act became law, software provider Recite Me has launched "36 for 36," a year-long initiative aimed at pushing organizations to accelerate their digital inclusivity efforts rather than waiting for looming federal compliance deadlines to force their hand.

The campaign arrives as the U.S. Department of Justice grants public entities more time to meet ADA Title II web accessibility requirements. While some may see this extension as a buffer, Recite Me CEO Ross Linnett argues that the extra breathing room should serve as a catalyst for immediate, proactive development rather than a reason to delay necessary upgrades. The firm insists that disabled Americans require equitable digital access now, regardless of regulatory milestones.

Running through July 2027, the initiative provides a structured roadmap for businesses and non-profits to improve their online presence. Recite Me is offering a suite of resources, including accessibility health checks for smaller organizations, specialized clinics, and technical support for PDF remediation. The company is also launching a "Digital Accessibility Champion" awards program to highlight organizations making significant strides. By combining volunteer support with educational outreach, the campaign seeks to foster a culture of sustained improvement in digital environments, ensuring that accessibility becomes a standard practice rather than a reactive legal checkbox.
