Mandom Corp Profits Climb as Operating Income More Than Doubles

Mandom Corp. posted a net profit of 2.12 billion yen for the nine months ending Dec. 31, a marked increase from 1.82 billion yen in the previous year, as the company benefited from rising sales and significantly improved operating margins.

Mandom Corp Profits Climb as Operating Income More Than Doubles

The Japanese personal care specialist, known for its Gatsby and Lucido brands, reported revenue of ¥59.19 billion, up from ¥57.13 billion a year earlier. This steady top-line growth was amplified further down the income statement, where operating profit surged to ¥2.89 billion—a significant jump from the ¥1.34 billion reported in the prior period.

Strengthening Operating Margins

The sharp rise in profitability suggests that Mandom successfully navigated inflationary pressures and supply chain costs that have recently challenged the broader consumer goods sector. Pretax profit reached ¥3.68 billion, compared to ¥2.15 billion in the same nine-month window last year, according to the company's financial filing.

Earnings per share for the period rose to ¥47.02, up from ¥40.43. These figures, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, reflect the company's performance through the end of the 2024 calendar year as it moves toward the conclusion of its current fiscal cycle.
