Starting July 26 through August 1, Target will offer up to 30% off select apparel, footwear, and dorm decor. These markdowns are part of a broader strategy to maintain its reputation for trend-forward merchandise while competing on price. Executive Vice President Cara Sylvester emphasized that the company aims to streamline the shopping experience for families, combining essential supply runs with seasonal celebrations.
Beyond basic discounts, the retailer is scaling up its physical footprint for student engagement. On August 8, nearly 2,000 stores will host back-to-school events featuring personalization kits for bags and tech accessories. For the college demographic, Target is expanding its move-in events to nearly 150 locations, with flagship stores adding DJs and product sampling to attract students. Teachers and college students can further leverage a 20% discount on a single storewide purchase through the Target Circle program, valid through September 12.
