The current healthcare market has largely prioritized large health systems, leaving critical access facilities with Level 1 and 2 nurseries without consistent MFM or neonatology coverage. Legacy telehealth models often proved more expensive than hiring in-person specialists, effectively barring smaller institutions from advanced support. Perinatal Link shifts this dynamic by offering a unified, integrated solution for both MFM and neonatal emergencies.
Sina Haeri, CEO of Ouma Health, emphasized that the industry previously deemed lower-volume hospitals unprofitable, a stance that neglected the needs of thousands of mothers. By combining Ouma’s maternal-fetal medicine practice with Millennium Medical Group’s neonatology expertise, the collaboration provides real-time support for resuscitation, stabilization, and complex clinical management. The program operates under a single contract with no technology or platform fees, ensuring that specialized safety nets are financially viable for rural and community-based hospitals.
