DePinto brings over thirty years of retail experience to the Minneapolis-based company. Beyond his long tenure at 7-Eleven, he has held leadership positions at PepsiCo and GameStop, and has served on the boards of Brinker International, Jo-Ann Stores, and OfficeMax. At Target, he is slated to join the Infrastructure & Finance and Audit & Risk committees.

CEO Michael Fiddelke emphasized that DePinto’s background in operational excellence and customer loyalty aligns with the company's current merchandising goals. Lead Independent Director Christine Leahy noted that the board appointment is designed to bolster guidance on long-term growth and digital innovation. This move comes as Target seeks to refine its enterprise strategy across its network of more than 2,000 U.S. stores.
