The company’s focus on high-value converged services is yielding tangible results, with consumer postpaid wireless account growth hitting its highest level in more than three years. Chairman and CEO John Stankey credited these gains to the company’s structural advantages in network performance, noting that AT&T is now accelerating its share repurchase program to approximately $10 billion for the year to reflect its market confidence.
Financial performance remained robust, with adjusted EBITDA rising 5.2% to $12.3 billion. While total revenues climbed to $31.6 billion, the gains were partially offset by a managed decline in legacy copper-based network services. AT&T successfully expanded its fiber footprint by over 1 million locations during the quarter, putting the company on track to reach 40 million total locations by the end of 2026. Looking ahead, management reiterated its full-year guidance, emphasizing a disciplined capital allocation plan that aims to return more than $45 billion to shareholders between 2026 and 2028.
