The company’s growth was driven largely by its commercial segment, which saw a 4% revenue uptick to $133.7 million. Total billable subscribers rose to 2.6 million, a 6% year-over-year increase fueled primarily by expansion in commercial IoT services. Despite higher revenue, net income fell to $9.7 million from $22.0 million in the same period last year, a decline attributed to rising transaction costs associated with the upcoming merger.

Operational EBITDA reached $119.1 million, slightly trailing the $121.3 million recorded in the second quarter of 2025. CEO Matt Desch noted that the integration with Rocket Lab’s launch capabilities is expected to strengthen Iridium's mission-critical service offerings. Following the acquisition of Aireon LLC in early July, the company is focusing on leveraging new space-based air traffic surveillance data to bolster its aviation safety portfolio. In light of the pending transition to Rocket Lab, Iridium management stated it will not hold conference calls for quarterly results or provide future financial guidance.
