Cizzle Bio Debuts Early Lung Cancer Blood Test in Texas

Texas-based Cizzle Bio has launched its proprietary CIZ1B biomarker blood test for lung cancer, marking the first phase of its U.S. commercial strategy. The diagnostic tool is now available to licensed health care providers across Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio, targeting earlier detection of the disease.

The test, which recently concluded laboratory validation at the Dallas-based OmniHealth Diagnostics, utilizes an ELISA-based immunoassay to detect a protein variant associated with Stage I lung cancer. Built upon three decades of research from the University of York, the technology is currently undergoing further evaluation at major institutions including the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in the United States, largely due to late-stage diagnoses. While low-dose computed tomography screening is the current standard for high-risk patients, the CIZ1B test is designed to provide clinicians with a complementary tool for evaluating indeterminate nodules and suspicious clinical findings. Cizzle Bio selected the Texas markets for its initial rollout to leverage existing high-risk populations and dense physician networks, with plans to scale access through additional CLIA-certified partnerships nationwide in the coming months.
