The collaboration utilizes SunTrax Air, a specialized research and development hub owned by the state, to evaluate how eVTOL aircraft can be safely integrated into Florida’s skies. By combining Eve’s proprietary aircraft technology with the testing capabilities at SunTrax, the partners intend to develop a blueprint for passenger experience, ground infrastructure, and navigation protocols.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, noted that the project aims to align aircraft design with community needs and operational realities. FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue highlighted that the unique resources at the testing site are essential for validating the safety systems required before full-scale commercialization. This effort leverages the long-standing aerospace ties between Florida and Embraer, Eve’s parent company, to position the state as a primary hub for next-generation aviation.
