Warner Bros. Marks 25 Years of Harry Potter with Global Celebration

Wands are at the ready as Warner Bros. Discovery launches its 2026 Back to Hogwarts campaign, a sprawling international initiative marking the 25th anniversary of the first film. The celebration spans theatrical re-releases, live fan events across four continents, and exclusive previews of the upcoming HBO Original series.

This year’s festivities carry added weight as the franchise honors the silver anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Between August 27 and September 3, all eight films will return to theaters worldwide, featuring 12 minutes of previously unseen behind-the-scenes footage. Tickets for these screenings go on sale July 31, with organizers anticipating high demand.

Live events remain the centerpiece of the September 1 tradition. While the studio has explicitly advised fans to avoid King’s Cross Station in London—where no official programming will occur—alternative gatherings are scheduled globally. Highlights include a mass wand lesson at the Château de Versailles in France, anniversary showcases in China, and immersive experiences at Universal parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan, and Beijing. Fans can also engage with the franchise through mobile gaming events, retail activations, and a dedicated digital showcase streaming on YouTube and TikTok, which promises to reveal new details regarding the highly anticipated HBO Original series.
