The study highlights that 8% of participants have already experienced a digital account compromise, while another 4% have had their devices stolen.

To counter these threats, users are increasingly prioritizing robust security protocols. Two-factor authentication stands out as the most preferred protective measure, cited by 58% of respondents, closely followed by individual document password protection at 52%. As physical document loss persists—with 5% of people reporting leaving papers in public spaces—the demand for remote data-wiping capabilities has reached 48%.
