West brings two decades of expertise in child nutrition to his new post. During his six-year tenure with the Alliance, he has managed financial oversight, systems development, and committee operations. His background includes significant leadership roles in Colorado school districts, where he previously earned national recognition for integrating fresh, local ingredients into institutional menus.
Dr. Katie Wilson noted that his deep understanding of the organization’s internal mechanics, paired with his reputation in the nutrition sector, positions him to steer the Alliance through its next phase. West, who holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, plans to continue the nonprofit’s focus on advocacy and resource sharing for urban districts. He previously served as president of both the Colorado Dietary Managers Association and the Colorado School Nutrition Association.
