The United States-Japan Foundation has signed on as the building's anchor tenant, citing the facility's potential to facilitate closer bilateral cooperation.

This expansion coincides with the growth of the center’s specialized programming, including the U.S-Japan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellowship. Funded by the Japan Foundation, this initiative represents the type of international exchange work the organization intends to scale from its new Washington base. By securing the Jefferson Place site, the Transpacific Future Center transitions from a project-based entity into a permanent fixture of the city's diplomatic and intellectual infrastructure.
