Harness Launches AppSec Alliance to Capture AI-Driven Security Spend

San Francisco-based Harness is formalizing a strategic partner ecosystem to help resellers and systems integrators address the security gaps created by rapid AI adoption. The new Harness AppSec Alliance aims to consolidate fragmented security tools, allowing partners to capture budget previously lost to disconnected point solutions.

As enterprises rush to integrate AI agents and LLM-powered microservices, the traditional attack surface has expanded beyond the reach of standard security stacks. Harness reports that 62% of organizations lack visibility into their LLM footprint, while 74% anticipate that AI sprawl will soon eclipse API sprawl in terms of risk. This shift leaves many resellers and integrators without the necessary portfolio to support their clients’ evolving security requirements.

Tom O'Reilly, Senior Vice President of Worldwide GTM Partnerships at Harness, noted that partners are increasingly unable to follow customer budgets as firms pivot toward AI-native application security. The alliance aims to solve this by providing a unified platform that integrates SAST, SCA, and AI firewall capabilities directly into the software delivery pipeline. By moving away from manual security handoffs between DevOps and engineering teams, the initiative seeks to replace slow, fragmented remediation processes with automated, platform-wide protection. The program is now open to global partners, with a regional foundation already established across Europe and the Middle East.
