The recognition highlights the firm’s specialized approach to small and medium-sized business lending, a segment often underserved by traditional banking institutions. FairSquare operates a portfolio of brands, including National Funding and SmallBusinessLoans, which provide working capital and equipment financing through a mix of direct lending and digital marketplace matching. Since its inception in 1999, the organization has deployed over $7 billion in capital to more than 120,000 businesses across the United States.

Founder and CEO Dave Gilbert attributed the ranking to the company’s focus on aligning financial products with the daily operational realities of entrepreneurs. By prioritizing speed and accessibility, the firm has carved out a niche in the alternative financing landscape. The CNBC and Statista ranking evaluates players across diverse categories, ranging from neobanking and payments to enterprise fintech, underscoring the broad influence of FairSquare’s technology-enabled model in the current small business lending market.
