Dayna Guido Launches Community Platform for Parents of Older Children

As children transition into adolescence, the strategies that once secured peace in the home often lose their effectiveness. Clinical social worker Dayna Guido is addressing this shift with a new community initiative, providing parents and professionals with the tools and peer support necessary to navigate the complexities of later childhood.

Building on her previous work, The Parental Tool Box, the Asheville-based educator is launching a digital platform designed for families with children aged eight and older. Guido, who draws on 45 years of clinical experience, aims to replace the pressure of perfectionism with practical skills and honest dialogue. The initiative arrives as families face increasing digital demands and evolving social expectations that require more than just standard advice.

The program splits its focus between two core groups. For parents, the community offers facilitated discussion groups and live Q&A sessions, creating a space to address modern challenges without the fear of judgment. Simultaneously, Guido provides specialized support for professionals, helping them integrate these strategies into both their clinical practice and their own family lives. By fostering these human connections, she seeks to move beyond the information overload of the digital age, emphasizing ethical reflection and presence in the face of developmental milestones.
