Link Engineering Lab in Germany Gains VCA Brake Emissions Approval

The Limburg laboratory of Link Engineering Company has secured authorization from the United Kingdom’s Vehicle Certification Agency to conduct witnessed brake emissions testing. This move allows the firm to provide official type-approval services for manufacturers navigating the stringent requirements of the incoming Euro 7 regulatory framework.

The authorization marks a significant expansion for the German facility, which already maintains ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and recognition from the German accreditation body, DAkkS. With Euro 7 regulations establishing the first-ever particle emissions limits for brakes, the industry faces an urgent need for specialized testing infrastructure. Link Engineering now offers an end-to-end service, bridging the gap between initial development testing and final regulatory certification.

Managing Director Marco Zessinger noted that the approval provides manufacturers with a streamlined path to compliance. By positioning the Limburg site as a hub for witnessed testing, the company aims to address the global shortage of facilities equipped to handle these specific technical demands. This development reinforces the firm’s role as a primary partner for automotive clients looking to meet international emissions standards.
