The LA Label Behind the World Cup Final's Most Discussed Suits

When millions tuned into the World Cup Final on July 19, they saw an unlikely fashion convergence: internet provocateur iShowSpeed in a stark white suit and conductor Gustavo Dudamel in sharp pinstripes. Both, as it turns out, were wearing designs from the independent Los Angeles menswear brand BARABAS.

The white ensemble worn by iShowSpeed was the Endless Brushed Cotton Suit, accented by a Faravahar lapel pin—a symbol representing the ancient Persian philosophy of good thoughts, words, and deeds. Simultaneously, Gustavo Dudamel and his orchestra took the stage in the brand’s Palma Pinstripe Suit. The viral nature of the appearance was entirely organic, as BARABAS maintains no formal partnership or sponsorship with FIFA or the performers involved.

Following the event, social media platforms including TikTok and X were flooded with inquiries regarding the "mysterious LA brand." For CEO Sam Esteghball, the lack of a curated marketing campaign is the ultimate endorsement. He noted that the brand was built for those who refuse to blend in, regardless of their background or public persona. This is not the label's first brush with high-profile visibility; its designs have previously appeared at the Oscars, the Grammys, and the Cannes Film Festival. Currently, the featured suits are available in limited quantities through the company’s website, with restock updates managed via their social media channels.
