More than 1,250 clinicians, including nurses and behavioral health specialists, will leverage these insights to guide customers through care coordination and resource access.
Bryan Holgerson, President of Cigna Healthcare U.S., noted that the investment targets rising costs in hospital and emergency services. Internal data suggests the model is effective: early engagement with care management has historically yielded a 42% reduction in avoidable inpatient stays and improved cancer diagnosis timelines by over a month for breast, colorectal, and lung screenings. Dr. Stanley Crittenden, Chief Medical Officer, emphasized that the goal is to simplify navigation for patients facing new or complex diagnoses, ensuring they receive appropriate care before complications escalate.
