PAXAFE Names Mark Talens Chief Commercial Officer

Mark Talens, a veteran executive with over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical supply chains and AI strategy, has joined Indianapolis-based PAXAFE as Chief Commercial Officer. He is tasked with scaling global operations and partnerships to meet surging demand for the company’s AI-powered cold chain decision intelligence platform.

Talens joins PAXAFE from ParkourSC, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy & Solutions Officer. His tenure there, which earned him a 2025 Supply Chain "Pros to Know" designation, focused on deploying AI to refine decision-making in life sciences and consumer goods. Before shifting to the technology sector, he spent over two decades in pharma, including a pivotal role as Associate Vice President of Global Supply Chain Operations at Organon, where he managed the company’s supply chain spin-off from Merck.

PAXAFE CEO Ilya Preston noted that Talens’ dual background—as both a former customer and a technology leader—is critical for the company’s push to help life sciences firms transition from passive visibility to proactive, AI-driven logistics. Talens himself identifies "exception fatigue" as a primary industry pain point, arguing that while organizations possess vast amounts of data, they often lack the contextual intelligence required to make rapid, unbiased decisions. At PAXAFE, he aims to bridge this gap, focusing on automating compliance workflows and reducing the high costs associated with supply chain inefficiency.
