The expansion brings a 522-room Marriott Hotels All-Inclusive Resort to Montego Bay, Jamaica, slated for a 2028 opening following the conversion of the former Catalonia Montego Bay property. The resort will feature 13 dining venues, extensive meeting space, and a lazy river. Simultaneously, the companies will debut an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania, in 2027. This new-build property will offer 271 guestrooms and a wellness-focused experience, including an oceanfront jetty and seawater pool.

Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott’s Chief Development Officer for the Caribbean and Latin America, noted that these agreements leverage the existing relationship established through the Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel. For Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, which currently manages 82 properties, the deal serves as a validation of its operational model. Marriott continues to aggressively scale its all-inclusive segment, which now includes 38 open properties in the CALA region and a robust pipeline spanning both the Americas and the EMEA territories.
