The gift was the centerpiece of the monthly gathering, which drew 115 local leaders, nonprofit representatives, and city officials. The morning session opened with a performance by the Boys & Girls Club of Whittier choir before transitioning into updates from Chamber CEO Shannon Hammer, President Liz Apodaca, and Whittier Mayor Pro Tem Mary Ann Pacheco.

Dave Gunderson, President and CEO of the credit union, described the donation as a commitment to the partnerships that sustain the region. Founded in 1954, the cooperative currently manages over $4 billion in assets and serves 187,000 members, maintaining a five-star rating from BauerFinancial.
