The project serves as a proving ground for Oklo’s scalable nuclear model, built entirely on private land with commercial procurement of all major components. By bypassing traditional public-sector timelines, the company aims to demonstrate that advanced nuclear technology can achieve deployment speeds previously considered unattainable in the sector.
Chief Executive Officer Jacob DeWitte stated that the successful civil excavation and construction demonstrate a viable path for the industry to move at an accelerated pace. The Groves reactor will now proceed into its critical testing cycle, serving as a template for the company’s future commercial reactor deployments.
