Temu strikes deal with Swiss SME association to boost local e-commerce

Thousands of Swiss small and medium-sized enterprises now have a direct pathway to global markets through a new partnership between Temu and the Schweizerischer KMU Verband. The collaboration aims to digitize local businesses by combining the platform’s logistics infrastructure with the association’s deep regional expertise.

The Memorandum of Understanding, set to run through 2027, focuses on providing practical training and digital transition support for the 9,000 companies represented by the SKV. By sharing case studies and operational guidance, the two organizations seek to lower the technical hurdles that often prevent smaller vendors from expanding beyond domestic borders. The SKV, headquartered in Hünenberg, will leverage its network of 20 regional platforms and its trade publication, ERFOLG, to reach thousands of business owners.

Roland M. Rupp, President of the SKV, framed the initiative as a necessary push to improve the competitiveness of Swiss companies in an increasingly digital retail landscape. For Temu, the agreement marks a significant expansion of its local strategy. Since opening its marketplace to Swiss sellers in September 2025, the platform has sought to integrate itself into the local supply chain. Interested businesses can now apply for the program via the dedicated seller portal, signaling a shift toward more localized inventory for the global e-commerce giant.
