Chugai Ro Swings to Quarterly Loss Amid Revenue Dip

Chugai Ro Co. Ltd. posted a net loss of 74 million yen for the first quarter ending June 30, a sharp reversal from the 704 million yen profit recorded during the same period last year. The results reflect ongoing pressure on the Japanese manufacturer's bottom line despite a narrowing of operating deficits.

Chugai Ro Swings to Quarterly Loss Amid Revenue Dip

Revenue for the quarter slipped to 6.12 billion yen, down from 6.35 billion yen a year earlier. While the company succeeded in trimming its operating loss to 209 million yen—an improvement over the 371 million yen deficit reported in 2025—it was insufficient to push the firm into positive territory. Pretax profit also remained negative, settling at a loss of 108 million yen compared to the previous year's 252 million yen loss. These figures, calculated under Japanese accounting standards, resulted in a loss per share of 10.51 yen, contrasting starkly with the 96.73 yen earnings per share achieved in the prior year.
