World Kinect Shares Surge on Raised Outlook and Profit Rebound

A 9% spike in World Kinect shares on Friday signaled investor confidence as the energy-management firm reported a sharp return to profitability. The company’s stock, now trading at $39.55, has climbed 69% this year, fueled by a significant upward revision to its full-year earnings forecast following a strong second quarter.

World Kinect Shares Surge on Raised Outlook and Profit Rebound

World Kinect now projects full-year adjusted earnings between $3.20 and $3.40 per share, comfortably outpacing the $2.79 consensus estimate from FactSet analysts. This guidance shift stems from a robust quarterly performance that saw the company generate $48.4 million in profit, or 94 cents a share. The result marks a dramatic turnaround from the same period last year, when the firm recorded a $339.4 million loss largely tied to $398.6 million in asset and goodwill impairments.

Operational performance also showed substantial growth, with revenue climbing to $13.59 billion from $9.04 billion a year earlier. Excluding one-time items, the company’s adjusted earnings hit $1.29 a share, nearly doubling the 75-cent figure analysts had anticipated before the earnings release.
