MetroCity Bankshares Reports $22.1 Million Second Quarter Profit

MetroCity Bankshares, Inc. posted net income of $22.1 million for the second quarter of 2026, a slight contraction from the previous quarter but a significant climb from the $16.8 million recorded during the same period last year, bolstered by the company’s recent integration of First IC Corporation.

The Atlanta-based holding company reported diluted earnings of $0.76 per share for the three months ending June 30, 2026. While net income dipped marginally by $183,000 compared to the first quarter of 2026, the year-over-year growth remains substantial. The company attributed the quarterly dip primarily to a $1.2 million decrease in Small Business Administration (SBA) servicing income and higher tax provisions, though these were partially balanced by reduced noninterest expenses.

Financial performance was highlighted by a net interest margin of 4.11%, up from 4.08% in the first quarter. Total assets stood at $4.52 billion at the end of June, reflecting a 25% increase compared to June 2025, largely driven by the acquisition of First IC in late 2025. Despite a $44.8 million decrease in loans held for investment compared to March, the company maintains a robust capital position with a total risk-based capital ratio of 19.51%.
