Andy Swoger Marks Decade of Expansion at Keesler Federal

When Andy Swoger took the helm of Keesler Federal Credit Union ten years ago, the institution managed $2.3 billion in assets and operated 24 branches. Today, as he reflects on a decade of leadership, the credit union stands as a regional powerhouse with $5.3 billion in assets and a footprint spanning 54 locations.

Swoger attributes this growth to a "one team" philosophy that prioritizes member-centric service over traditional corporate hierarchy. This approach appears to be paying dividends, as the credit union recently completed the largest merger in the history of Louisiana and Mississippi. Member satisfaction scores, which have consistently hit the high 80s and 90s, serve as the primary metric of success for the CEO.

Financial performance has mirrored this expansion, with annual net income climbing from $24 million to over $49 million, totaling $330 million over the last ten years. The workforce has more than doubled to 975 employees, while membership surged to 394,000. Beyond internal metrics, the organization has aggressively expanded its brand presence through high-profile sponsorships with the New Orleans Saints, LSU Athletics, and the naming rights to Keesler Federal Park. These achievements helped secure national recognition in 2026, earning spots on the best credit union lists from both Forbes and Newsweek.
