Huawei Launches AI-Driven CloudCampus Platform for South African Firms

At the 2026 Huawei Network Summit in Johannesburg, the technology giant introduced its Xinghe AI CloudCampus SaaS platform, a strategic move to lower the barrier for AI adoption across South Africa’s government and private sectors by providing a centralized, scalable network infrastructure designed to accelerate regional digital transformation.

The platform centers on four primary pillars: flexibility, agility, intelligence, and scalability. By shifting to a pure subscription model, local enterprises can bypass heavy upfront capital expenditures, opting instead for a pay-as-you-grow approach. Huawei intends to support this transition with local service teams, ensuring that data privacy and regulatory standards remain a priority while systems receive automated, real-time updates.

Operational efficiency serves as a major driver for the rollout. Utilizing SD-Branch technology, the platform enables plug-and-play deployment that can improve network rollout speeds by over 80%. Furthermore, an integrated AI-assisted copilot automates the resolution of common network issues, a feature Huawei claims can slash the mean time to repair by 70% and reduce maintenance costs by half. According to Shi Lei, Vice President of the NCE Data Communication Domain, the goal is to democratize intelligent O&M, moving it from a luxury reserved for large corporations to an accessible utility for small and medium-sized enterprises. The platform supports converged Wi-Fi, LAN, and WAN capabilities, offering tailored solutions for sectors like retail and education to ensure the infrastructure scales alongside business growth.
