The solution addresses the critical power layers of modern data centers: grey-space UPS and HVDC systems, white-space battery backup units, and grid-side storage. For grey-space applications, the company introduced an 85Ah high-rate lithium iron phosphate cell optimized for rapid discharge and pulse reliability. Complementing this, a 50Ah sodium-ion cell provides operational stability across extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 80°C.

For white-space BBUs, Highstar utilizes tabless cylindrical cells in 18650 and 21700 formats, incorporating both LFP and high-nickel NMC chemistries to balance power density and safety. These units are engineered to minimize internal resistance and temperature spikes, allowing for greater flexibility in rack-space configuration. The grid-side infrastructure rounds out the chain with 314Ah lithium-ion and 160Ah sodium-ion cells, specifically tuned for long-duration storage and rapid power response.

By integrating internal development of cathodes, anodes, and electrolytes with structural innovations like directional venting, Highstar aims to simplify supply chain integration for system operators. The company’s efforts were recognized at the summit, where they were named a Top Benchmark in AIDC Energy Storage and contributed to the 2026 Global AIDC Power Supply Industry Development Blue Book.
