Monport MEGAS 70W Laser Streamlines Workflow Within LightBurn

Monport is targeting power users with its MEGAS 70W desktop CO2 laser engraver, which integrates advanced controls like autofocus, wireless connectivity, and live camera positioning directly into LightBurn. The move aims to eliminate the industry-standard headache of toggling between proprietary manufacturer applications and the primary design software used by small businesses.

Many desktop laser systems claim LightBurn compatibility but force operators to exit the software for essential tasks. The MEGAS 70W changes this by embedding critical hardware functions into the primary interface, allowing users to align artwork, adjust focus, and initiate jobs without external tools. By consolidating the production process, the system reduces setup time and limits alignment errors common in high-volume environments like Etsy shops or classrooms.

Wireless integration further separates the MEGAS from entry-level alternatives. The machine connects directly to LightBurn over Wi-Fi, removing the need for a tethered USB connection and allowing for flexible workspace layouts. During internal testing, the device demonstrated high-margin production capabilities across materials including plywood, acrylic, and leather. To support the launch, Monport has discounted the system to $2,799.99 during its current Summer Sale, a price point intended to improve the return on investment for small-scale manufacturers and creative workshops.
